Holding the Rope

We just got back to Ukraine, and I must say: It was so great to see each and every one of you. The time sent in fellowship, sharing, and prayer was just a refreshing to my soul. It reminded me of something William Carey said, concerning his philosophy of missions: “I will go down, if you will hold the rope.”

The longer I am on the foreign mission field the more I agree with that sentiment. Truly and sincerely, I don’t know what I would do without your prayers, encouragement, and support. I may be the one that has slung down the face of the slope, but without all of you holding the line, I would have fallen to hurt long ago. Thank You!

In Isaiah and Romans it says: “How beautiful are the feet of him who brings good news.” But, how much more beautiful still are the hands that sacrificed to shod the feet of the runner. I am at this moment, reminded of the words of Christ, saying: “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." Thank you for your cups of cold water that bring refreshing to my life and mission.
