"...And then He told me, My grace is
enough; it's all you need. My Strength comes into its own in your
weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit
focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a
case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness." 2 Corinthians
12:9
We will be stateside on furlough in a month, and I was thinking about all I still have to do before we leave. I'm not talking about buying nicknacks for friends and family; I'm talking about actual work! I'm up to my eyes in it. In light of this This reminded me of the book "The Jesus of Suburbia". In it, the author talks about the revolution that Jesus incited. Strength in weakness, life in death, gain in loss... all so He could have glory... all So we would learn to trust Him, so that people would see the disparity between "power" as the world defines it, and "power" as defined by God. Simply put: He has all power, and to prove it, he uses the weakest people as instruments. He displays Himself through them. Lest anyone think they have power and strength of themselves, they see this manifestation; and it shames them. Well, heck, I'm a weak vessel, so I guess I'll plug on!"
Perhaps only when human effort had done its best and failed, would God's power alone be free to work." - Corrie Ten Boom
"The best place any Christian can ever be in is to be totally destitute and totally dependent upon God, and know it." - Alan Redpath
